Vision of a Village Community

Belize Faith Missions Vision of a Village Community works because it:

  1. Integrates the Mission Campus (church, school and children's home) within the life of the community.
  2. Develops leaders so that the work can continue.
  3. Introduces biblical values that help to free people from the beliefs that hold them in bondage.

Teaching

By holistically addressing community needs - physical, spiritual, social, and mental, Belize Faith Missions has distinguished itself from typical third world missions, where the local church usually functions outside the community, ministering to believers. Instead, the Belize Faith Mission's campus (church, school and children's home) is at the center of community life. Our ministry goes beyond simply ministering to believers; instead, we teach believers to minister to their community. God has helped us to model biblical Christian values and principles within the community and challenge those beliefs that hold people in bondage.

Developing leaders

Belize Faith Missions works to develop Christian leadership within the community. As a result, Christian leaders become involved in the overall leadership by participating in community meetings and by learning the principles of development, so there is leadership to carry on physical and spiritual ministry. That's true sustain-ability.

Reaching out to others

Beyond just working with leaders, members of the congregation are taught to reach out to their neighbors and to other village communities. When this happens, biblical values are realized. The church and its people are taught to enter other village communities to accomplish physical and spiritual ministry projects. These projects can include agriculture, health, micro-enterprise, disaster relief, clean water programs and other community needs. Evangelism also is a primary component of this outreach ministry.

Belize Faith Mission’s Ministries and its supporters are a crucial part of our Vision of a Village Community, addressing the needs of children who are the future leaders of village communities, and helping to provide the ongoing funding to make all this happen.
